Yet the books Licca brought back, and the stories told by Alchemy, painted a very different picture. Torn between the pragmatic mindset of her family and the more hopeful influences of her sister and Alchemy, Kasia wrestled with her feelings toward flowers. In the end, she secretly constructed a makeshift flower garden from rubbish materials, a small gesture to fulfill a dream she dared not speak aloud.
As the seeds brought from Alchemy began to sprout and thrive, the illusion of the garden gave way to something real. No longer just pretend, the little sanctuary blossomed.
