Before that accident, Hult was the hero who protected the town. After that accident, he became someone who had given everything for the town. While he recovered peacefully under the townspeople's care, their kindness also pinned him in an absolutely safe place. The man in the wheelchair, watching the shadow of the window frame slowly crawl across the floor, seemed to have been waiting for a chance all along, yet had never truly made up his mind.
As he grew up, hard work was once the only rope he could hold onto, and the thing he relied on to survive. For a long time after losing his identity as a pilot, he did not know who else he could be. Now, he understands that he does not have to live by clinging to some identity earned through effort. He is Hult, and that alone already means enough.
The grocer of the town. Always manages his business from a wheelchair wearing a weary expression. Clad in a felt hat and a flight suit, he is said to have once been a fighter pilot, contributing immensely to the town's defense. During a fierce battle, he crashed his plane; while he miraculously survived, the penetrating injury to his knee left him unable to stand again.
